Dolores White
10/27/1942 – 10/22/2026
Dolores White, affectionately known to many as “Auntie,” passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 83 years old.
Born on October 27, 1942, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, Dolores was the daughter of Ferdinand “Tiger” and Ann Veltri. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and spent her later years residing in Central Islip, New York. Dolores was the beloved wife of William White, with whom she shared 43 beautiful years of marriage.
Family was the center of Dolores’s life. She was the devoted sister of Carole Banschback (Brother in law Kenneth Banschback) and was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Veltri (sister in law Josette Veltri). Predeceased by Mother and Father in law Francis and Henry White and sister in law Patricia.
As a cherished aunt, she held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews: Donna (Michael) Kenneth (Mary), Michael (Dawn) Stacy, Keith, and Laurie (Jason). She was also the adored aunt to many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephew, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wantagh Abbey, located in Wantagh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, New York, 9:30am followed by her final resting place at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Dolores to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
