Herbert L Jemmott

Herbert L. Jemmott (Herb), of Bellmore, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the age of 90. Herb’s fun-loving, comedic personality along with his loving nature touched all who knew him. Born on November 14, 1932, Herb grew up in Brooklyn and Queens. In 1960, he moved with his family to Bellmore. Herb was a veteran of the US Navy, having served on the USS Leyte during the Korean War. Retired from a long career with the Town of Hempstead, Herb was an active member of the Bellmore Presbyterian Church. He regularly shared his love of music and was often known as Harmonica Herb. Herb is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen, their children; Kenneth (Theresa) Jemmott, Cathleen (Daniel) Priest, Linda (Jerry) Scotto, David (Elaine) Jemmott, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several siblings and many nieces and nephews.
