John Louis Signorelli
8/4/1946 – 1/24/2024
John (Jack) Signorelli was born August 4, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, the first-born child of Louis and Florence. When Jack was four years of age, the family relocated to Wantagh on the south shore of Long Island.
At Wantagh High School, graduating with the class of ’64, Jack cultivated numerous enduring friendships, including a core group that would remain lifelong friends.
A standout athlete across multiple sports, His talents on the football field earned him a scholarship to play at Oklahoma State University.
Post-university, Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where his commitment and distinction garnered multiple commendations. The skills and discipline instilled during his Marine Corps service resonated throughout his life.
Returning to Long Island post-military service, Jack embarked on a successful business career with Xerox, Wang Computers, and Oce, eventually becoming President of Konica Minolta. In semi-retirement, he found fulfillment as a consultant and coach to other business leaders.
In addition to his professional and familial responsibilities, Jack maintained a passion for sports. Engaging in activities such as softball leagues, golf outings, and pickleball matches, he found fulfillment in fostering connections through the shared experiences of team camaraderie and spirited competition.
Jack’s vivacious personality shone through his talent as a storyteller and his knack for well-timed jokes. Renowned for his humor, anyone in Jack’s presence was guaranteed a hearty laugh.
Preceded in death by his father Louis and daughter Patricia, Jack is survived by his mother Florence, brother James, and sister Jayne. He leaves behind his devoted wife Kathleen, sons Michael and James, and cherished grandchildren Jack and Mia.
To honor Jack’s memory, a viewing will take place on Thursday, February 1, from 3-7 pm at Wantagh Abbey, followed by a gathering at the nearby Irish Poet Bar and Restaurant. On Friday morning at 9 am, a brief prayer service will be held at Wantagh Abbey, leading to Jack’s resting place at Calverton National Cemetery with military honors.
