OBITUARY
Mark Bendetti
4/6/1962 – 6/9/2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Detective Mark Bendetti, who died peacefully surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle fought with unwavering strength and dignity.
Born in Brooklyn in 1962 and raised in Copiague, Mark was a man who embodied strength, loyalty, and service. From a young age, he had a deep love for sports – especially football – which reflected his competitive spirit, discipline, and drive to always give his all, both on and off the field.
After completing his education, Mark chose a life of service – joining the police force and dedicating 33 years to protecting his community. His career was defined by bravery, grit, and an unshakeable commitment to justice.
He was more than this; he was a husband, a father, a brother, and a friend. A man of quiet strength and deep integrity. He led by example, valued fairness and hard work, and taught those around him the meaning of courage.
Even in his final days, Mark faced adversity the way he always had – with grace, fight, and faith. To those who cared for him in his final chapter, we are forever grateful.
Marks is survived by his beloved wife, Laura, and his three children: Anthony, Michael, and Angelina. He is also survived by his three brothers, George, Michael, Keith, and their families, all of whom stood by him with fierce loyalty and love.
