5/12/1929 – 3/21/2022
Vernola- Mary (Italia) Vernola, 92 of Wantagh, NY, and Cornwall, NY died peacefully on March 21, 2022. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph.
Adored mother to Anthony Vernola (Lisa), Joanna Doyle (Michael), Joseph Vernola (Karen), and Janine Keegan (William).
Cherished by her grandchildren, Anthony, Adam, Lisamarie and Luciana Vernola, Meaghan and Brian Doyle, Joseph and Daina Vernola and Breanna, William, Emmalee, and Julia Keegan.
She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Felicity, Jolie, Jocelyn, Anthony, Guiliano, Aaron, Calvin, Sofia, Elizabeth, Aidan, and Finn.
Born in Brooklyn NY, Mary was a hairdresser in her mother’s beauty salon in Brooklyn. In 1949, she moved with Joseph to Wantagh. She lived there for 60 years before moving to Cornwall.
When not vacationing with her Joey in Hawaii, Mary enjoyed volunteering in thrift stores, playing mahjong and bingo, and spending time with family and friends.
