Muriel G. (Vangor) O’Brien, 94 of Wantagh died peacefully in her sleep in her beloved home which she resided in for 65 years. Muriel was born to the late John and Vanessa Vangor in, Philipsburg Pennsylvania on May 17, 1927. Muriel was the youngest of three daughters who were raised in Snow Shoe, Pennsylvania.
Muriel was preceded in death by her loving husband who she enjoyed playing golf, cards and dancing with, her two loving daughters Patricia (O’Brien) Mullane, Denise (O’Brien) Dawson and son in law, Robert Mullane.
Muriel was a dedicated member of the Saint Frances de Chantal church where she spent numerous years devoted to her faith and church friends.
Muriel‘s passion in life for her two grandsons, Michael S Dawson (Jodi) and Matthew W Dawson and great grandson, Francis (Frankie) Dawson. Muriel never missed a television sporting event that each of her grandsons played and coached in. She loved the Mets, watching Jeopardy and cooking for her loved ones. Her love of family, faith and friendship was evident throughout her life.
She is survived by her grandchildren Michael S Dawson and his wife, Jodi, great grandson, Frankie Dawson of Lincoln Nebraska and Matthew W Dawson of Tilton, New Hampshire, son in law John P Dawson of The Villages, Florida.
